Iceland’s Pirate Party gets law passed abolishing ‘blasphemy’

> This news summary is brought to you by Intermicronational World (IW), a government news agency. IW is happy to serve as a genuinely alternative news source. IW has existed since October 2011, but was forced to expand its services in March 2014 because of a lack of scholarly or scientific articles about micronations, and has since become a daily source of news, and not just about micronations. The government behind IW is the United Micronations Multi-Oceanic Archipelago (UMMOA, UGV, or GV). UMMOA® is a United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) registered trademark, which means it is recognised by at least one US government agency. The USPTO also recognises the UMMOA trademark as indicating a political organisation concerned with international affairs, and the UMMOA is also a lower stage Third World nation, or a quasi-state, which claims the new small continent of Global Earth Oceans (GEO). Because the UMMOA is indeed concerned with international affairs, and it was being ignored even by international NGOs whose work is entirely complementary, since April 2015 GEO has helped to expand two state of New Jersey NGOs through the funding their application for US federal NGO status. In the future, through these two organisations, or their partners or affiliates, GEO hopes to begin to greatly alleviate the problem of homelessness globally. Through this mission GEO will behave like a de facto state. The UMMOA-GEO nation-state also supports the work of several other NGOs in the fields of freedom of the press; in the fields of environmental, linguistic, religious, and indigenous peoples’ preservation; and in the fields of human and nonhuman rights. > > Iceland’s Pirate Party gets law passed abolishing ‘blasphemy’ > The Pirate Party, which has just three MPs in the Icelandic parliament but is leading in opinion polls, has had its first bill signed into law, decriminalizing “blasphemy”.
